Show The Drive With the hot weather anJ dusty roads comes the necessity for resuming re-suming work on the carriage drive that was opened through and south of the city two or three years ago Mr Alma Pratt has already had his road machine out andput the drive in fair shape but labor means expense ex-pense to somebody Heretofore the cost of keeping the load in order has been borne by private citizens owners of horses and carriages and the contributors have not complained com-plained that they failed to receive re-ceive the worth of the money given It is the intention if ands can be procured to make several sev-eral improvements the present season sea-son one being the putting up of one or more extra tanks from which to load the sprinkling carts The association proposes if the city can be prevailed upon to put a tank at the west side of Liberty Park to sprinklethe drive from the Park to the street running past the Penitentiary Peni-tentiary It is hoped that the necessary neces-sary funds for keeping the drive in order will be forthcoming that the people may have at least one road where driving is a pleasure Contributions Con-tributions may be handed to WS McCornick banker or to Alma Pratt superintendent of the drive |
