| Show S i ii IT is a bad practice that theatrical theatri-cal people sometimes Indulge in oft of-t cutting the performance on the occasion of the final performance into in-to atown Circuses invariably do this and there is some excuse for it in their case as in most instances they I have to rush away to the next town and have to steal all the time they iII j can but dramatic companies are I J never so crowded for minutes that i they cannot give the performance i I entire if they choose to do so Instead > In-stead however if it is not the rule L III I it is certainly often the case tha l the last entertainment is rushed fl through in a hurry the acts are cut 1I j ° and much of the business is left out J I The players perhaps are tired and t t anxious to get to bed But they should remember that the audience > 4 has paid to witness the entire show and to deprive them of any part of it is equivalent to stealing so f1 much the entertainmentor taking S q money under false pretenses We I admit that in too many instances j the audience is the gainer by escaping i es-caping a whole performance at the same time having paid its money f it should be made to suffer n the infliction i in-fliction complete if it hasnt energy enough voluntarily leave the I house d 1 < a portion of the admission ir 1 ad-mission price If this thing oft of-t cuttin entertainments dropping out songs here and there and skipping j x skip-ping lines or scenes on last nights is to continue theatregoers should < i stay away on last nights and let the performers do their cutting to i j i empty chairs |
