Show Reply to Theatre Goer SALT LAKE CITY June 6 83 Editors Herald Theatre Goer rushes into print and publishes a letter to which he puts the caption Unfair to the Public when he in reality is unfair un-fair to both the management of the threatre and attractions He accuses ac-cuses them of changing the order of the programme after the tickets had been sold This is not true and had Theatre Goer read the papers and advertisements of the performances perform-ances he would not have fallen into the error The programme has been kept as announced on the first days sale at the box office and the first advertisements ia all the newspapers but Theatre Goer makes all this fuss and feathers because a programme distributed in the street happens to be printed wrong Theatre Goer might have found out the truth at anytime any-time by applying at the box office which I think he did after publishing publish-ing his letter and which he ought to have done before Madame Mod jeska comes prepared to play any three of her seven pieces but as she only remains two davs she cannot can-not do more and Manager McKenzie McKen-zie chose such as there was the most demand for before the sale was open d Theatre Goer asserts that plays are thrust upon him Now theatre going is a luxury not a necessity I and therefore his complaint is not reasonable As for any failure that a manager makes to give the public what he sells them tickets for he is always willing to make restitution by giving them back their money I will freely answer for myself and a number of other people who have seen both pieces that it would be infinitely preferable to see Sara Eernhardt in Feodora than in LEtrangers the latter piece in its principal character being a direct reflection on women of American society abroad He asked the question and having answered it I have no more to say Hoping he will enjoy Twelfth Night and assuring as-suring him that it will be played on Saturday night I remain Yours truly FRED STINSON Manager Modjeska |
