Show For the Asylum Thursday morning Sheriff W H Homer arrived from the north The Sheriff had in charge not two criminals but two unfortunates whose mental status rendered it necessary to cenflne them in the asylum as-ylum One of these persons was Gabriel Maybury who formerly resided re-sided on the west side of Weber River about three miles from Og den He was wellknown ami will be remembered by marfy of the cit izens of this place who will also regret re-gret to learn of his sad condition lie has for some time past been residing at Franklin I r About eight years since Mr Maybury got into an altercation with some other man during which the latter struck Maybury on the head with a neck yoke fracturing the skull severely The injury thus inflicted was very serious and affected af-fected his sanity and rendered him incapable of selfcontrol The unfortunate un-fortunate man continually grew worse and as before stated it has row become essential to place him in the asylum for treatment In addition to this affliction his left hand is withered and of course rendered useless The other person is Morgan Vaughn of Malad About four years ago he was thrown from a I horse and trampled on by the animal ani-mal His head was terribly bruised and his mind was very much unhinged II un-hinged This unfortunate man has for some time been treated for this malady and as a cure had not been effected it was thought proper to place him also in the asylum where he will receive such treatment as Is suited to his condition physically and mentally |
