Show Be A Friend To Find A Friend By JOHN T. WATTS Dear John: I have been a widower for about eight years and would like to meet a mature ma-ture lady of 50-55 years who is capable of showing love and care to a person who is kind, helpful and thoughtful of others as I am capable of responding re-sponding in kind. I WOULD consider sharing my small home if such a person is and would be compatible. I have moderate habits, enjoy going places, meeting people, having dinner once in awhile at some nice place. I am 5-foot-1 1-inches. weight 165 pounds, considered good looking, enjoy good clothes and am in good health. BUT I am lonesome and i want companionship at times with such a person, more than just now and then. 1 have tried a couple of these singles groups but 1 haven't found them to my liking. Please help me get in touch w ith such a person if at all pos-s pos-s i b I e . 1 would be very grateful. H.B. DEAR H.B.: As we have pointed out before. e can't act as a lovelorn agency, but we can possibly give some helpful suggestions. No. probably the singles clubs are not the answer for someone in your age bracket which I assume is close to the 50-55 you stipulated. They are more for the 30-40 group, although I know a young woman who became acquainted ac-quainted with a man at one of these clubs and went with him for a short time, with disastrous dis-astrous results. I AM not a religious fanatic, but I know for a fact that you will find more persons of good moral character in church groups, whether they be Catholic. Protestant or Jewish. Unless you know a lot about the person, you are inviting trouble and maybe even financial finan-cial loss by opening your home to her. IT IS unusual for a man to write a letter of this sort. Such letters come predominantly from women, so if you look in the right places you shouldn't have much trouble finding compatible female companionship. com-panionship. Get out and meet people, which you say you like to do. be a friend and you will find friends. But we can't recommend recom-mend anyone just on the basis of a letter. |
