Show Senior Citizen T Events Slated The Golden Years Center celebrated members birthdays birth-days of January on Monday with a birthday cake served to all who were having lunch there. Those honored included includ-ed Minnie Clark, Lenarda Johnson, Ireta Taylor and Grace Anderson. ON MONDAY, Feb. 7, Haven and Afton Burningham will present a film of their tours in South America, Africa, Brazil and other countries at 1 p.m. Come in and hear and see this travelogue. On Feb. 14 Siv Odegard, an exchange student from Norway, Nor-way, will speak on the customs cus-toms in her nativeland and will discuss her impressions of our country. She lives with Bob and Nadine Barlow in Bountiful, a lovely Norwegian who is a senior at Bountiful High School. She is an accomplished ac-complished flutist and will provide several musical numbers. The time is 1 p.m. THE CENTER will be closed on Feb. 21 for president's day. Mark your calendar for the monthly luncheon to be held at Viewmont High School on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 1:30 p.m. Call in your reservations to the Center by Feb. 16, 295-3479. THE SENIOR citizen van is available for those living in Farmington and south in Davis County. If anyone would like to come to lunch and spend several hours having hav-ing lunch and visiting the friendly folks there, call in the day before you would like to come in. Many members make this a daily occurence, the van holds at least 9 people besides the driver and many of the members just enjoy the ride from one part of the county to the center, have lunch and visit before being returned to their homes. ON WEDNESDAY the public health nurse is available availa-ble for blood pressure tests and there is also bingo. So make plans to ride the van several times each week for lunch and a time to be with friends, kj |
