Show HONOR MEMORY Of GEORGE I CANNON GANNON Two Hundred Members of the Family Gather in Social Hall The memory of the late President George Q Cannon of the Mormon church was honored by a large gath gathering gathering ering of his descendants at Social hall hail yesterday afternoon and evening when an Interesting program was carried out consisting of music tableaux and many personal reminiscences of the late president by the older members of the family John Q Cannon eldest son of the late president read the Cannon chronicle which contained a record ot of events during the past year and in which members of the family had been concerned There were about OO members of the family present including tour four genera generations generations Angus M Cannon brother of George Q Cannon was present for a 3 short time and was an interested oh ob observer server of the celebration Mary Alice Lambert sister of the late president was also present Exercises In honor honorof of the birthday commenced at 5 after which the program was carried out The celebration was prolonged until a late hour with music and social gaiety President Cannon was born January 11 1829 and would have been 83 years old on this occasion His parents George and Ann Quale Cannon were werl natives naties of the Isle of at Man The son was a resident of this cit city from Octo October her ber 3 1847 until his death which oc occurred occurred April 12 1901 |
