Show IN BEHALF OF STOCKMEN State land Board Seeks to Modify Ruling Regarding Grazing on Mineral Land Steps have ha e been taken by b the state board of land commissioners to relieve the and stockmen of ot the state from the onerous effects of or the ruling of ot the of ot the Interior that no land may be selected for graz grazing grazIng ing purposes which has hal or is il thought nought to have coal or other mineral deposits At a meeting of ot the board yesterday a resolution was passed directed the secretary of the interior explaining the trouble which has been caused by the ruling and suggesting a remedy The remedy proposed is that the de department department suspend any action towards the cancellation of oC selections of or land until congress convenes again and ani that a bill be passed by congress allow allowing ing this land to be used for tor grazing purposes and reserving all the mineral minerai rights in the United States It Is proposed that the state convey back to the federal nt all such mineral rights in lieu of or a con continuation continuation of oC the grazing privileges The ruling of the department has al already alread ready read worked a great hardship on stockmen and who selected certain lands in good faith for or the so J purpose of using it for grazing The Theland Theland land is of o no known value alue for other purposes and the board believes that its suggestion su will forever settle any difficulty and still preserve all the rights of the government as wen well as of or tho e who fleeted lle t fd |
