atthe the city hall ball and Mayor Wilson lIson called the meeting to order found all of the conn councilmen oilmen In their places with the exception of Leahy who was given an absent mark The minutes of or the previous prey ous session were then read and after a slight correction were accepted accented on mo motion motion tion of or Getch and Wight Ight Bills against the city elb for the month of March were next presented to the amount of or for goods purchased from local business men and other necessary ex expenses expenses The bill of Judge Snyder Sn der for 4 for his services as attorney for the city In the Bagnell case brought forth some discussion as the solons were in inclined Inclined dined to belley that Mr Snyder was overcharging them and on motion of Deighton the bill was referred to the tile city attorney and recorder and later on during the meeting was ordered paid On motion of Deighton the recorder was as authorized to draw warrants and pay pa off of f these tIle the expense of an officer for this city Young would have to manage the court After a short discussion It was decided to have Mr Young for the pres present present present ent at least City short time they the were accepted on motion of Wight and Deighton Applications for liquor licenses were next in order and the following applications applications were made Donovan Co Pat Clarke company The bonds were made malle out in regular form and were accepted on motion of Deighton and right Wight At this point Wight Ight stated that In the future the councilmen should be very ery reful in accepting these bonds when the sureties are men who could not make good their agreement A list of names was then presented by bythe b bythe the marshal of Park City men asking for places on the fire department and on motion of Wight and Deighton they the were accepted Deighton asked about a broken water pipe on Heber usher avenue av nue and ind nd was told by b the marshal that the water company had bad been notified several days da s ago but at as yet had done nothing with It On motion of ot Peterson and Wight the marshal was In Instructed Instructed instructed to go after the company again and to Insist Upon It being fixed The mayor then informed the council that owing to the present condition of ot the city he had given a number of the busi bust business business bustness ness men permission to pay their licenses monthly Instead of quarterly quarter for as he said the city officers should not be too hard on them It was near the close of the session s when the only exciting business of or the evening was taken up and this was when Getch told the council that they should cut down the city expenses some and to begin with there were too many man policemen on hand at the present time and he thought that one of them any anyway an anwa way war wa should be turned loose After die dis discussing cussing the question at some length It was finally decided on motion of Deigh Deighton Deighton ton and Peterson to have hae the marshal mar hallay lay each officer off 0 one week during the month thereby cutting a weeks salary off each man which will be equivalent in the expense column to having one man off Marshal Morse told the council that t the city was In need of ot two fire tire hydrants h and anda a casts for some now being used He also asked that standpipes for forthe forthe forthe the sprinkler be put up as tuI the fire plugs plu that are used for tor that purpose now are being ruined but the mayor stated that he thought the financial condition was a IL bad one and that these improve improvements improvements ments could not be made at least not at the present time Nothing further coming up at this time the council adjourned on
