Show Gains Safety Award FARMINGTON The Davis County School District has been awarded a plaque by the Utah Highway Dept. of Public Safety for its "Outstanding "Out-standing highway safety record." re-cord." The AAA Rating award "in recognition of outstanding maintenance performance from the Fall of 1981 to the Spring of 1982" was presented to Sup. Dr. Lawrence Welling by Lt. Howard E. Cooper. "DAVIS DISTRICT has done an outstanding job toward to-ward insuring the safety of our school children," said Lt. Cooper. In order to qualify, a district must have no more than one defect per every 20 school buses inspected. The state highway patrol inspects all school buses twice a year. Lt. Roger G. Gilmore, who is in charge of bus inspection, said, "I've been looking at school buses in Davis County since 1959 and it has always been a top flight fleet." DAVIS WAS one of 1 1 districts dis-tricts throughout the state to qualify for the award this time. |
