Show Monte Vista School: A Spring Concert Students of Monte Vista School in Farmington entertained enter-tained parents and friends with a lovely spring concert on April 27 in the school. THE THEME was "Sounds of Music Through The Year." Students were dressed in appropriate costumes for each month, made by the staff of the school, assisted by many others. Rulon Smith is head teacher at the school. in January there were little snowmen and winter wonderland won-derland songs by the group. In February came hearts and songs for the month. DURING THE program, color pictures were shown on the wall for the audience, showing seasonal activities and ordinary days around the school. In March there were kites and leprechauns and for April "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" and "Easter Parade." There was a display of large picture hats for the Easter song. FOR MAY, "Seeds," "Popcorn Popping" and "Grandmother's Garden" were featured. For June there was a piano solo by Julia Gregersen and several summertime sum-mertime songs. July was depicted for the patriotic month which we all celebrate, with flags and some popular songs. SEVERAL songs by the group and a vocal solo, "Edelweiss was sung by Darrell Glover, for August. September brought more pictures pic-tures taken around the school and more songs by the group. In October there were Halloween and haunted house numbers with interesting costumes to depict this season. FOR November, Indians and "My Favorite Things" were on the program. December of course brought Santa's helpers and "The Little Drummer Boy" with special Christmas lighting light-ing effects. Colored lights and spots were used during the program for special portions of the very interesting evening. even-ing. THE STUDENTS finished their program singing "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing." The teachers and staff of the entire school provided a delightful evening of entertainment enter-tainment for the audience and are to be commended. REFRESHMENTS ' were served by the PTA following the program, kj |
