Show i - ! " - ' ' f " , i MR. AND MRS. GARY R. SHURTZ Temple Rites Dana Lee Carnes became the bride of Gary R. Shurtz Saturday June II, in a Salt Lake Temple ceremony officiated of-ficiated by Pres. Lloyd Walch. TEMPLE Square Hotel was the setting for a wedding breakfast given in honor of the newlyweds by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle P. Shurtz, 75 E. 1400 S., Bountiful. Boun-tiful. Mrs. June Carnes, 340 E. 200 N., Bountiful, mother of the bride, hosted a reception recep-tion for the couple that evening even-ing at the 26th Ward, 200 N. 200 W., Bountiful. The bride was attired in a floor-length white polyester and organza gown with fitted lace sleeves under full organza organ-za sleeves, lace and pin-tucks accented the bodice and lace enhanced the flounced overskirt. SHE wore a finger tip veil of bridal illusion. The bridal bouquet contained coral roses, orange-tipped carnations, carna-tions, daisies and baby breath, with orange and white ribbon and lace streamers. Cathy Hintze was matron of honor with Becky Hill as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tina Harmon, cousin of the bride; Carol Shurtz, sister of the bridegroom, Marcinele McConkie and Nita Smart. THE attendants wore orange floor-length deep-ruffled deep-ruffled dresses with fitted bodice, puffed sleeves and mandarin collars trimmed in white eyelet, and white eyelet aprons, ruffled at the shoulders. The apron bib and pockets were highlighted by satin-stitched hand embroidery in spring flower bouquets. They carried small bouquets of daisies and baby breath. The mothers of the bride and bridegroom wore complimentary green floor length gowns of quiana and polyester, respectively, and corsages of orange-tipped carnations and baby breath. DON and Melvin Shurtz, brothers of the bridegroom, served as best man and head usher, respectively. They and the father of the bridegroom wore rust tuxedoes with dark brown velvet lapels, accented by orange ruffled shirts. Becky Palmer attended the bridal registry and piano music was provided during the evening by Judy Naylor and Sherry Bacon who sang favorite songs of the couple. All three girls are friends of the bride from BYU. Sharee Rodgers and Julie Carnes, half-sister of the bride, served the wedding cake. PRENUPTIAL showers were given by Cathy Hintze, Marcinele McConkie, Becky Hill and Mrs. Grant Smart and Nita Smart. The bride and bridegroom are both graduates of Bountiful Boun-tiful High. Dana attended BYU and Gary is an intern in the five-year pharmacy program at the University of Utah. He has served an LDS Swedish Mission. AFTER a brief honeymoon to Yellowstone, the couple will make their home in Bountiful. |
