Show ' Y ' v." J - .i ' -I TO PERFORM Among those performing in a conference are, 1 to r, Denise Juluson, Holly Williams, and Carey Redmond. Five Davis County school district students will perform Thursday evening during the Alexander Graham Bell Association As-sociation for the Deaf Conference to be held October 6, 7 and 8 at the Hotel Utah. ALL OF these students are hearing impaired (two, profoundly) and all are integrated in-tegrated full time in the Davis public schools. The program is part of a presentation entitled en-titled "Hearing Impaired Youth and the Arts" which will present through performance perfor-mance and exhibits the artistic artis-tic abilities of hearing-impaired youth throughout the state. The students are Denise Juluson, Woods Cross High, who will present the theme; Collette Parsons, Clearfield High, piano solo; Carey Redmond, Red-mond, Bountiful High, dramatic reading; Teresa Bennett, Kaysville Jr. High and Holly Williams, Bountiful Elementary,1 both of whom will perform in a gymnastics exhibition. THE UTAH Bell Association Associa-tion Conference is the third in a series of nationwide meetings meet-ings featuring Dr. Daniel Ling, Ph.D. of McGill University, Montreal where he is professor of aural rehabilitation as well as author and researcher. A pioneer in education of the deaf, Dr. Ling established parent infant programs, initiated ini-tiated and supervised mainstream main-stream programs for hearing-impaired children. - ...., ... . ,. ., ,. ... I,,, DAVIS County School District Dis-trict employs this kind of program, in which hearing-impaired hearing-impaired students are enrolled in regular classrooms and receive individualized in-dividualized resource help from teachers trained to teach them within the public school setting. The theme for the conference is "Developing Auditory and Speech Skills."
