However. Roger Livingston said the endorsement won't matter because he won't give up his Utah Houseseat. Councilman Roger Mecham said he'll ask the council tonight to endorse Councilman John Winder as a replacementfor Livingston. Winder leaves the council at the end of the year. But Livingston said state law does not require him to resign from the Legislature just because he has moved outof the legislative district he represents.
