NORTH FIRST, WEST Mrs. Ethel Evanswife of June Evans, 460 West Third South street, Provo, is the winner of second sec-ond prize in the feature fiction section sec-tion of the current issue of the Denver Post, with an interesting story taken from her experiences on an Idaho farm. This is one of a number of stories stor-ies Mrs. Evans has contributed to the columns of this and other newspapers and magazines. Her prize-winning story tells of a Christmas of by-gone days spent on an isolated ranch, "far away from the hurry and, worry of a city Christmas a place where peace on earth, good will toward man and beast prevailed; a coyote chorus instead in-stead of carols, sleigh bells in place of automobile horns." Her story deals with the life of an undernourished chicken which she had named Emmy Lou. In depicting the life of her barnyard pet, she interprets life as seen through the eyes of Emmy Lou. One of her former stories published pub-lished in the Post tells of how a tiny fawn becomes a pet on this same ranch. Her stories are well written and her work will no doubt attract wider attention than it has already done. Services Are Held For Beth Potts PAYSON.
