Show Local CCC News Items Captain William Reiley, District Medical Inspector, Fort Douglas, was a visitor at the local Camp last week. Captain Reiley inspected inspect-ed the camp and departed the same day. Captain Chauncey C. Whitney, Assistant District Inspector from Fort Daugias, arrived at the camp Monday afternoon. Captain Whitney Whit-ney inspected the camp and left Tuesday morning. - He was well pleased with conditions at the camp. . The local SCS office received word that the Pleasant Creek channel chan-nel project in the city of Mt. Pleasant, had been approved and that work on this project would commence scon. 'Clarence Meldum of Salt Lake City, arrived at the local COC camp last weekend to assume duties du-ties as Camp Assistant. Mr. Mel-Cf.'iim Mel-Cf.'iim was formerly connected with this ccj.r.p and his many friends were glad to see him return to this camp. Mr. Edward W. Field, District Educational Ed-ucational Adviser, Fort Douglas, paid the camp an official visit on Thursday. Mr. Field was well pleased with the educational setup set-up at this camp. 4 Captain Keith Tatom, District Executive Inspector from Fort Douglas, was a visitor at the local CCC Camp Thursday of last week.. Captain Tatom inspected the camp and found that conditions were satisfactory. Mike Prichard, assistant to the engineer, who has been stationed at the Leeds CCC Camp for the pat nonth; returned to the local cam. Saturday and will resume his duties du-ties at this camp. Lawrence Caylor, enrollee of this camp, was rushed to the Salina hospital Thursday morning for an nnpratinn for acntp ftnnpnrlirir.ir Lieutenant and Mrs. Wilbur R. Carter are the proud parents of a new baby daughter " born at the home cf Lieutenant Carter at 5:00 a., m. Monday. February 7th. The baby. Jeyrr; Ellen Carter, weighed eight and a ha'f pounds at birth. Mrs. Carter and the baby are doing do-ing splendidly under the care of Dr. Madsen and it is expected that Lieutenant Carter will survive. Lieutenant Raymond Kraft, Dental Den-tal Suiegon, Fort Douglas, arrived at the local camp from the Salina camp Tuesday, and will do dental work for the men of this company. He is accompanied by a dental assistant as-sistant and a truck driver. Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Kraft will be at the camp approximately three weeks. Educational Adviser Adolph F. Vorphal accompanied District Educational Edu-cational Adviser Edward W. Field on a trip to CCC Camps in the southeastern part of the state. Adviser Ad-viser Vorphal states that they visited vis-ited some seven camps and none exceeded the reading room for comfort com-fort and convenience, nor did they exceed the educational program in the number and variety of subjects taught at the local caimp. |
