Show Page 4 WESTMINSTER COLLEGE The Westminster baseball squad, playing only its second season since the College last fielded a team in 1954, opens its spring campaign this week. The Parsons meet the University of Utah freshmen Tuesday at 3 p.m. on Advice Offered On Draft Test Selective Service local boards in Utah now have available applications for all college students desiring to take the Selective Service College Qualification Test, Colonel Evan P. Clay, state director of Selective Service, announced Monday. Col. Clay said the College Qualifica- tion Test would be administered at eight institutions of higher learning in Utah on May 14, May 21, and June 3. A student registrant desiring to take the test may get an application and bulletin of information at any Selective Service local board. The purpose of the test is to provide additional evidence for the use of local boards in considering the deferment of a student from military service All Selective Service registrants who are presently enrolled in a college or university or who are high school graduates or high school seniors intending to go to college are encouraged to make application and take the test A the University diamond, then travel to Cedar City Saturday for a double-heade- r with the College of Southern Utah. Coach Howard Richardsons crew, eager but inexperienced, were battle-testelast week against the powerladen Utah State Aggies. This will be a building year for the Richardson - men as Westminsters baseball program is gradually expanded. The schedule doesnt allow any breathers, but will give the young Parsons vital experience against some highly regarded teams. Jerry Stevens, who lettered last year, will be the number one pitcher. Hell be backed up by Dennis Eaton, another letterman, who doubles at first base. No deferment is permanent and the test results might be important during the next school year for many registrants who are presently deferred. Col. Clay emphasized that application must be made to Selective Service local boards and application to take the test must be made no later than April 23, 1966.
