Show r Westminster College of Salt Lake City Fn y New Parking Daisy Lee Forum staff writer This school year there have been several changes in the parking situation. The main change is that we no longer have the Malouf parking lot. The other changes involved the new parking stickers and the new procedure to get them. Saeed Rezai, supervisor of campus Richard atrol and of plant director rockmyer, facilities and operations, headed these changes. According to Rezai and Brockmver, we lost 106 parking stalls with the March' 1996 closure of the Malouf parking lot. However, since 1992 we have gained 109 parking stalls. The 109 parking stalls came into existence with the relining of the south parking lots, the remodeling of Foster, and the newly added spaces behind Shaw and Payne Gymnasium. There were about 707 parking stalls before the Malouf lot was closed, we now have about 623 parking stalls. So we lost only 84 parking stalls. Brockmyer said that they had been anticipating the closure of the Malouf parking lot for several years. He said that it seemed like the most sensible lot to close because it was difficult to get in and out of and was not used as much as the other lots. Brockmyer also said that our enrollment now is similar to what it was in 1989, only now we have more parking stalls than we did then. He also said that they rearranged when classes started and ended to try to alleviate the congestion.
