Show Page 4 September 23, 1983 Forum Music Grants Available Clhoir Involves Students and Community The Westminster Choir is a activity a strictly volunteer group. This year, for the first time, there are special music grants available to new and returning students, according to Kathy Neuschwander, choir member. The choir is a community choir, with student and nonlar student members. The choir meets in Nunemaker Place every Wednesday night from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. under the direction of Vicki Curry. Within the choir, there are smaller singing groups. A mixed quartet and a barbershop quartet are now looking for new voices, said Neuschwander. Bob Marselle is a member of both the choir and the barbershop quartet. Marselle said he enjoys singing and, therefore, enjoys being in the choir. The best thing about the choir is that anyone can join, according to Paula Kohagen. You dont have to know how to read music or even to have sung before. If you enjoy singing you can join, have fun, and meet different people. Several choir performances are already planned for this year, on and off campus. Convocations, Christmas concerts, churches, and baccalaureate are just a few of the events and places where performances are scheduled, according to Neuschwander.
