For the owners and operators of radio station KUSW the phrase '"From the West to the World" is much more than catchy promotional slogan. Its the literal truth. Just ask announcer Faith Martin. "We often get calls from people who are receiving our signal," she reported. "But one night we got a call all the way from Israel, from a man ttving on the West Bank of the Jordan. First because its new, having only been in operation since December, and second because it broadcasts over the short wave band, one of only two "commercial short wave stations in the U.S. KUSW is the brainchild of Ralph Carlson, founder of Carlson so you dont jazz and country.
