Open House 19M . - Family Marks Anniversary Of Andelins Marvin worked for the Signal Corps during World War II and then went into business as a tile contractor. He also worked for the FAA until his retirement in 1970. At the age of 72 he built their home in West Valley where the two of them now live. The Andelins have both been active in church organizations, Faye in Primary, MIA and the Relief Society, both ward and stake. They were called on a mission to the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area from 1971 to 1972, and also a short term mission in 1973 in Pittsburgh. contest. a licensed operator during World War I on the ship Nushagak which was bound from San Francisco to Honolulu and Alaska. When the war ended he attended LDS high in Salt Lake, and then worked for Utah Power and Light in Martin, for the next 20 years. Faye was born in Salt Lake in 1912 but was raised in Soldier Summit, a booming railroad town. On her 21st birthday, she and Marvin fell in love at first sight and were married eight months later. At the age of 13, as a result of an arti- 1898 cle seen in the Saturday Evening Post, he was instrumental in getting the Boy Scouts organized in Utah and his group registered as Troop 1 of Utah. From an early age Marvin was interested in electronics and became an amateur radio operator. His small ham station, located in Richfield, was an important link in sending the first wireless message from coast to coast. The bride is the daughter of Floyd Kirk of Oroville, California and Marilyn Mickey, West Valley, and is a graduate of Kearns high. Mr. and Mrs. Lial Atwood of Kearns are parents of the groom. He is a graduate of Kearns high and attended Utah State University. The Frances is another 'bipartisan' name. Oh, they try to make some s difference with Frances and Francis, but that little ole vowel gets lost in the shuffle and male and female end up the same. men mostly mostly. . . . and with the ie1 for the women . . . again I that great stuff of love. Clem can be for either sex. And often is. Of course it's now an old fashioned name, but still found in phone books. Naturally they both began with Clement for the men and Clementine for the women. With our habit of shortening names, however, they both became Clem and the name holds.
