Either times have changed considerably or that picture of the wholesome American family in my grade school civics book was incredibly out of touch. Somehow, Im inclined to think the latter. No doubt there are people - and families - who pay close attention to governmental affairs and cast their ballots after much deliberation, largely because nice A dog. lw' They were all off to fulfill their civic duty. But I will say weve been able to pinpoint a few things which help a candidate get elected by that wholesome American family, things which have nothing A candidate whose name starts with an A ( maybe even a B, C or D), stands a good chance to be at the top of the list of office seekers. The middle ones blend together, particularly for the voter who looks at the ballot and doesnt recognize a single name.
