Show 2B Murray Man Is Honored On 9 5th Year Carl E. Nielsen, 1575 Vine Street, will be honored by his family on his 95th birthday. The family will mark the event with a quiet celebration. Mr. Nielsen was born February 13, 1887 in Millard County to Hans William and Magdalena Rasmussen Nielsen. He married Jane Ann Metcalf in the Manti LDS Temple on June 11, 1913. Layton and Christine Janssen. A wedding breakfast was held at Murray 20th ward and a reception followed the ceremony at the Old Mr. and Mrs. Bret Winn Meeting House. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Janssen, Murray, and graduated from Murray high. She is now employed as a dental assistant. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail B. Layton, Clearfield, and is a graduate of Clearfield high. He also attended Utah State Winn as attendants. She is attending the Utah State University where she is student body secretary and is majoring in math education. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David S. Winn, Logan, and is a graduate of Skyview high. He is attending the Utah State Univer-stiwhere he is majoring m finance and accouting. He has filled a LDS mission to Nagoya, Japan. Nielsen He has been active in the LDS church, serving as bishop, bishops counselor, clerk, high councilman, Sunday school superintendent and home teacher ever since 1912. Mr. Nielsen has worked in the Manti LDS Temple as well as the St. George, Logan and Salt Lake Temples. In their younger years the Nielsens were farmers and later on he railroaded, tended sheep, raised turkeys, dairy and was employed by the state road department until he retired at age 72. He is the father of three sons, Ramon and Robert of Murray; Noel, deceased; and three daughters, Beulah (Mrs. Farrald) Christensen, Bountiful, Mrs. Othea Sovereen, Murray and Velma, Salt Lake. Mr. Nielsen has 16 grandchldren and 11 Mr. and Mrs. Mayland Layton by John D. Janssen with Shaun E. Layton and Mark E. Janssen as ushers. The newlyweds will honeymoon in St. George and will make their home in Murray. Special!
