WILLIAM J Lawrence said the e program is now functioning with 12 trained paramedics and six Emergency Trained Medical Technicians (EMTs) The state EMS council has said the six EMT positions should be filled by paramedics by Dec 1978, when the phase in program is fully implementcounty-wid- ed Sheriff Lawrence told commissioners that Davis County may have to apply for an ex- the next paramedic training classes have not yet been scheduled and could either begin in September or Januaiy According to Sheriff Lawrence, the county should have little trouble in getting the extension since both the Ogden and Provo paramedic programs have been granted a similar tension ?rr' m iirnMw 00 5 w since extension THE TWO deputies approved for hire on Tuesday were the last of seven men that had been approved by the Davis County Commission earlier to supply the man power needed for the full paramedic program. Sheriff Lawrence said, paramedic calls m the south end of the county are increasing since the service began ten days ago The paramedic team in the area south of Farmington received six calls one day this week COMMISSIONER Glen Flint, questioned why one a as deputy trained paramedic was presently place in a corporal position in the Davis County jail instead a of as functioning to According paramedic Sheriff Lawrence, there is presently no corporal slot in the paramedic division and, until that position becomes the available, deputy paramedic has elected to work at the jail.
