DELTA PHI Delta Phi is the only organised social fraternity on the Weber colli ge campus. Every department and every activity of the school is represented in some way by a member f Delta Phi, since we make it a point to support school functions to the utmost. In addition to our activities around the school, we send programs each u eek to one of the wards of Ogden or this vicinity. We have two social banquets every month. At one ofthe last of these we entertained seven new initiated members including: John Nelson, Owen Owens, Blair Stoker, Keneth Barker, Elmer Wilcox, and Melvin Ferris. Delta Phi defies any organization in the school to show a better scholarship record. OTYOKWA'S MANY ACTIVITIES NAMED Phone 1123-W One of the most active clubs at Weber college is Otyokwa. It is a girls club which was organized last year, and since that time has been prominent in all school activities. Among the activities this year, Otyokwa has sponsored the "Big Pow Wow" dance shortly before Christmas. The dance was praised for its lovely decorations and favors. It was very successful as was also a second dance sponsored by Otyokwa and Excelsior at the Ber-thana ballroom. Perhaps the most outstanding contribution to our school life was a splendid assembly. Otyokwa brought to Ogden Dr. Adam S. Bennion, noted speaker of this state. The famous mixed quartet, composed of Paul Cragun, Glen L. Hansen, Bernice Tyree, and Carma Douglas, was also present and favored us with their music. The assembly was enjoyed by all the students and also by many alumni. Bachelor Batchings After coasting through a success ful Fall quarter, The Bachelors started the Winter quarter with a bang. The following new members were pledged to the club: Gene Clark, Allan Bassett, Orvil Strat ford, Gerald Robbins, Wayne Dev- ereaux, Bill Weaver, Wynn Hansen and Emery Taylor. Not satisfied with this, the club voted to sponsor a news publication to create interest and arouse enthusiasm throughout the school. The next big dance of the year will be the "Heart Throb Trot' (Valentine Dance), another Bachelor sponsored afair. Watch for it. It promises to be good. Friday morning at nine o'clock a novel assembly was given by the new La Dianaedas sorority in the college auditorium. In the form of a pep rally the assembly turned out to be a huge success. A pleasant little skit.depicting the basketball team was given by the girls, followed by a series of rousing cheers from the student body, led by the cheer leaders. After the assembly some two hundred students gathered in front of the Gym nasium and with hearty cheers of encouragement saw the boys off for Snow College where they were to play basketball last Friday and Saturday. At the assembly the team was introduced to the Student body, and drew cheers of delight as each embarrassedly made his little speech. The school joins in congratulating La Dianaedas.
