There fore, I will write under the fitting name, Alfred Excelsior 11 from now on. Well the bis niffht is onlv a week awav. February 24 is the eve of the Excelsior - Otyokwa Sweetheart Ball. As evervone knows, this is the biggest and best dance of the entire vear. This vear Excels and O.T. are both giving it all they have to make it tne greatest Sweetheart Ball ever held at Weber C. Susan Anthony, Ann Frandsen, Barbara Parker. Virginia Clifford, and Sally Mason are running for Sweetheart Queen, and Doug Cox Jerrv Lvnch. Harry Campbell Kent Pantone, and Lynn Smith Congratulations go to the debate teams who keep stacking up the honors. The high school students will benefit from the tourney this week-end just by being in the good Weber atmosphere of argumentation (nicht vahr, Herr Peer) The "Glass Menagerie" cast, technicians and director, Mr. Rowley, proved last week the Weber College has high cultural opportunities for those who wish. The productions was outstanding and compliments were1 heard everywhere. Sharmea is proud of her Kaye McGarry who ably played Amanda. . Friendliest Girl Selected Soon By Pam Ford We extend an invitation to ALL THE GIRLS of Weber College to make your plans now to attend the annual Friendship Banquet Monday, January 20. "Friendship Greetings around the World" is its name; The sponsor is T a k a i Kyoto and the banquet will be one of the finest events presented this quarter. Our congratulations to AWS on the Preference Ball and to Garry Jackson, Jon Collins and Larry Peer for being our most preferred men on campus. Felicitation to the "Frenehies on their assembly last Friday. A good job well done, girls. We wish lots of luck to Come Oborn, she has been elected Vice President of the Honorary Debate Society. We know she will do a terrific job. Pius Miss Ford Monday Worry By Bon Parker Our skiers are in great shape for the big race. The Snow Carnival has something new this year snowshoe races. This should add to the carnival or should I say it should add more points to Sigma's ever dominating Snow Carnival results. If anyone knows where snowshoes could be obtained contact Ray Rhead Galloway suggests one for each foot. Sigma members were presented with quite a scare last Monday. Although we have no affilliation with the Labor Temple that store next door is nothing we want to burn down. There is a definite limited supply of those "glass houses" in our dry city. What Sigma members have been doing lately: Bribing senators in order to have certain "liquor laws" passed. Enjoying parties alone, because of disappearance of date in father's car. Ruining a good pair of shorts by jumping from airplanes. Watching the Friday Morning Fights. Fred Peabody Happy To Say Assembly Is Over By Linda Monk This motto of the Sharmeans works in a two fold manner, but we are happy that tout son finit. We wish to thank Jim Sass and Mr. Rowley for the help and time they gave us on our assemibly. A special salute goes to Jerry Perry for the extra time and work he put in. Boy, are we glad' its over. Now for the two-fold motto.-Iost while in rehearsals: one set of car keys, one long brown wool coat one purple wool belt size 24, one small black purse, half tube of black face, one iron bathtub, one red stocking, one nylon, 3 tubes of lipstick, a knitting needle and various unmentionables. Those of us who are on the Southern Utah - Las Vegas trip give the rest of you much sympathy for not being here with us. The Shar means wish the team and the travelers a safe journey and easy victories. Arena Scores Big Success By Larry Peer Congratulations to the Theater Arts department on the successful production on the "Glass Menagerie.". Also to Gary Jackson for being selected Weber's mont preferred man, and AWS for the great King of Heart's Dance. Welcome to Sigma on the list of Hound Dog winners. Lambda Delta Phoenix managed to send another Weber College student on a mission, good luck Jens Traeden, former father of all birdmen . . . gulp. There was Norman Bramble, Sigmund Freud, and now me. A new resolution has been forced, so in the presence of this stream of consciousness, read ye and re-joyce:"I, Larry Peer, do in the meantime swear that I will not cut, slice or otherwise mutilate any person or persons who cannot take .it." Until these surgeons can get this . . . ugh . . . knife . . . It's the fact that I got it in the back that . . . must look to the minister ing angel ... be brave Deacon Grow, I shall return to the cottage meeting . . . Sydney Gynt II |
