Show Delta Phi Kappa Plan For Activities Members of Delta Phi Kappa met thisweektodis-cuss plans for the new school year. The "brothers" sounded very optimistic about their first full year since being organized on the Weber State campus. Last spring Delta Phi was just getting underway, but now with a large membership and full organization, the fraternity will be active in all Weber State functions. Delta Phi Kappa Fraternity is the first national Greek letter fraternity to be organized on this campus. Its members are all men who have served at least six months missionary service for any denom-ination. Paul H. Dunn, general authority of the LDS Church, serves as national president. The chapter at Weber is led by Arthur Jones, a man of considerable leadership experience, and a charm which won him the "cutest thing I've ever seen" award while summering at Jackson Hole this summer. Other officers are Douglas Cox, Boyd Williams, Dennis Weir, Larry Zaugg and Dale Child. The returned missionaries of Delta Phi are looking forward to some social events of their own this year but have aspecialaim of being highly competitive in all inter-club competitions and hope to be a real support to the college. The first was topro-vide a "break" in reading the Signpost for students. The second was to write about something thatinter-ests .me as a hobby. The last reason is the most important of all--to see my name in print. You may wonder why the name "Flicker Talk." "The Flicks" is a nanre used in England for movies. While in New Zealand, Igotakick out of referring to a movie as a "flick." And since I wanted to keep the column open for pretty much any subject on entertainment, "talk" was later added. After the column, came Theater Page Editor. The page became a success. Mark Zeller has done a tremendous job to gain advertisers for thepaper. Today, the M o t o r-V u drive-in has seen fit to advertise "The Collector." This is an outstanding film that has had good reviews. The majority of the audience that attends "the flicks" is in the college age group. The increase in attendances at. . jnovi'e." theaters show that people' are leaving their tvsets once in a while to see a "flick." The UB has scheduled many excellent films which have been very successful in their first runs. It is also hoped that students enjoy seeing the weekly music, box. The listing does not always agree with the local charts. There are several other ideas that we hope to put on the Theater Page. The cooperation of the theater and music departments will add to a more successful page.
