Show Page 4 SIGNPOST December 6, 1963 A Letter To Santa A CHRISTMAS WISH Excelsior Christmas wish is: That we may retain our charter and have another off -campus "Maleific." That Santa will bestow to Sigma Gillette Blue Blades and The Red Carpet Shop will give them a grab 'A. A ft to 0& By Janet Lund Well, friends, Romans, and fellow students, another quarter is beginning its exit into the sunset. It has been filled with lectures, labs, work, and lots and lots of fun, both off campus and on. We're sorry to see it come to an end but we also look forward with anticipation to the new quarter ahead. With a full stomach, thanks to Thanksgiving, Otyokwa turned to a rather quiet week with books, pencils, and reams of paper in preparation of finals. The only interruption was eating chicken dinners given to members at club by the pledges. The worst part is over for the O.T. papooses as the official HELL week drew to a close with Kangaroo Court for all pledges who shirked their "duties". The hesitant pledges were "Plenty-um" happy when that night of strawberry, egg shampoos and cries of "I'll never get this off my back," "It took me seven years to grow them this long," and "Oh, how I love onions, peanut butter and toothpaste," were some of the reactions to their penalties. But all in all, Otyokwa thanks their new papooses for their cooperative attitude throughout pledging (and especially for breakfast at Harmon's at 6 a.m.) Excels made the last week of Fall quarter activities complete for the members and pledges of LaDianaeda by showing them a wonderful time at Snow Basin. Sleigh riding and tobogganing were first on the agenda followed by dancing and that favorite American pastime (eating, stupid). Note to Pam Prafaiyer: I hear that sleigh riding lessons are taught every Wednesday afternoon at many of the city parks LD would like to thank her pledges and congratulate every one else too for the fine job they did on decorating the Ogden City Park. It is uplifting to know that the students of Weber State College are willing to give of themselves to help beautify their city. Takai Kyoto wishes to an nounce that their freshman pledges will be led by Peggy Mueller, president; Sherri Arbo-gast, vice president, and Dollie Wickstrom, secretary, of the freshmen group. During the long holiday ahead, two of the major dances will be held: The Diamond Jubilee Ball and the Phoenix Snowball. These will be THE social events of the year. It will be worth your while to come even if it were just to see the lovely girls with their glamorous formals and their handsome escorts gliding around the floor.
