Blvd. LD Continues Ualleyball Wins Last Friday the powerful L.D. machine rolled over the Chanodo eight to widen their lead margin to two games in the Women's 1M volleyball competition. Along with the "swabbie'' victory, the independents, after a slow start, sparked a win over the Sharmea team. Free substitution in both games afforded an opportunity for all the gals to "get into the act." In ping-pong, O.T. leads the competition, but L-D.'s Sharon Farr put squeeze on by beating Chan-odo's Audrey Harris in Friday's play. Vicky Marumoto breezed through with a win for independents, over Shamiea's Mary Lou Ilium. v With the fall quarter intramurals heading down the homestretch, excitement and anticipation reign high. With the additional strength of the club pledges the games Friday may cause an upset in the not-too-static I-M sports. On the slate for today are: Independents against L. D. at 2:30; O. T. against Sharmea at 3:30. The recorded results of the volleyball play to date are: Team Win L. D. Chanodo Independents' O. T- Sharmea Excels Lead IP1 Pack By Larry Tomlinson With football long gone and volleyball in its final stages, it seems safe to assume that the "E" Men of Excelsior will go out in front of the intramural pack. Tied with Sigma after the hectic football campaign, Excelsior volleyball teams I and II have each reaped three victories as against no losses to practically clinch valuable made points for Excels. Although they have not forfeited any games, no mean feat, Sigma teams, I II and III have failed to win a game amongst them. This week, however, the Sigs' were assured of at least one victory when team I met the II's. The only other team with three victorys under its belt is the faculty who sport a powerhouse to say the least. Volleyball will just about be wrapped up before the Christmas vacation begins with basketball scheduled to start sometime around Jan. 10th. In the National League Excelsior team I leads with three wins; followed by Phoenix I and the Independents with two wins and one loss each. In the American League team II from Excelsior is tied with the faculty with identical records of 3-0. According to Jerry Thompson, student director of intra-murals, the point scoring in volleyball will be almost the same as that in football. Points will be awarded teams finishing first, second, third or fourth. Also entrance points will be given for each club entering competition. This holds only for a "maximum of three teams per club. A new inter-club ruling allows clubs to officially enter only three teams'. Lose 0 1 0 designocS for freedom L l(ii "EDELWEISS" ski parka by. White Stag is gaily embroidered with Swiss snow Flowers.
