Show Miss Viola Jamison and Second Lieut. Elmer Pickett Marry In Temple Married at high noon Wednesday, Wednes-day, July 1, in the St. George Temple were Miss Viola Jamison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Jamison of Minersville, Utah, and Second Lieut. Elmer S. Pickett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pickett Pick-ett of St. George. President Harold Har-old S. Snow performed the ceremony cere-mony with a small group of family fam-ily members and intimate friends attending. Both bride and groom are graduates grad-uates of the Dixie junior college, Lieut. Pickett having accompanied the local unit of the National Guard to Camp San Luis Obispo in March of 1941, and was recently re-cently graduated from Fort Bel-voir, Bel-voir, Virginia, with the rank of second lieutenant after three months of intensive study. His brief furlough home made possible pos-sible the marriage before he returns re-turns to accept his post with the 44th Engineers' regiment at Camp Crowder, Mo. Immediately following the marriage mar-riage ceremony, the couple were honored with an informal family dinner at the home of the groom's parents, the table being set for twenty. The guests included in-cluded the bride's mother from Minersville and the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin A. Little of St. George. On Wednesday evening a large number of relatives and close friends were entertained at an informal reception at the home of the groom's parents. For this event the bride wore her wedding wed-ding dress of white slipper satin, a charmingly designed floor length model. Her corsage was of gardenias gar-denias and sweet peas. She was informally attended by a group of former school companions. On Tuesday evening Mrs. Ellis Pickett assisted by Miss Phyllis Lightner and Miss Herma Gubler honored Miss Jamison with a miscellaneous mis-cellaneous shower at the Pickett home on Mt. Hope. The lawns fronting the home made a delightful de-lightful setting for the event in which 28 relatives and school friends of the bride participated. Guests included the bride's mother mo-ther from Minersville. Lieut, and Mrs. Pickett, accompanied accom-panied by the latter's mother, left this (Thursday) morning for Minersville Min-ersville where a reception will honor them prior to their departure depart-ure for Camp.
