Show Dixie College Defeats LasVegas Gunners 48-33 Saturday Hight The Dixie college basketball quintet quin-tet showed scoring power and lightning speed last Saturday night to down the Las Vegas uunners in tne local gym ib-oo. Coach Watts used his entire squad of 14 men. The game started with a contrast con-trast of styles. The Flyers emphasized em-phasized speed, with razzle-dazzle plays leading to a set-up. The Gunners were satisfied to take plenty of time in working the ball down and then wait for a deliberate shot. For most of the first quarter the two teams tallied shot for shot. The Flyers then found plenty of holes in the Gunners' Gun-ners' defense and began to pile up a score. At this point the visitors changed tactics, trying to speed up their game; but their shooting was erratic and the locals gradually gradu-ally pulled away. The dinners will nlav here again on January 23rd, and they have promised to give Coach Watts' boys more competition. The team is composed of individual indivi-dual stars from a number of mid-western mid-western colleges, but the men have not worked together long, nor have they put much time in drill.
