Show Clare Hirschi Buried At Rockvslle On Monday, August 23 ROCKVILLE, Utah F u n e r a 1 services for Clare Hirschi were held here Monday afternoon. He was killed when he failed to make the turn with his motorcycle at the bridge in Zion National Park and was thrown over the abutment, abut-ment, down the hill, breaking his neck. Failure to handle the motorcycle motor-cycle properly, due to not being familiar with it, was given as the cause of the accident. ' He leaves a young wife and a two month's old baby. About ten days ago his father, H e b e r Hirschi, was struck on the side of the head with a baseball in one of the games at the Hurricane tournament, tour-nament, and was iniured severlv. The Thursday before his death his younger brother, Arden, was badly injured by a runaway team at Grafton. The funeral services were under the direction of Bishop Wallace Ballard. Services were held in the Rockville Chapel with a large crowd present to pay their respect to the deceased and his family. Speakers included Mervin Terry Clair Rowley, the wife's uncle and county clerk at Parowan who had married the couple;' L. B. Bennett, principal of the Hurricane High school; Alvin Allred and Bishop Ballard. They all told of the fine character of Mr. Hirschi and of his work and friendships. The opening prayer was made by George L. Whitney and the closing prayer was given by Chauncey Sandberg. Bishop Walter H. Slack dedicated the grave. He was buried in Rockville. Mrs. Hirschi's mother and father of California were present at the services. Many relatives and friends from this entire section attended the funeral. |
