For 11 years after the death of his wife in 1920, Mr. Isom ' faithfully cared for his motherless mother-less family. When most of his ! children had reached maturity, he married Mrs. Rose Clove, May 15, 1931, and to them was born one son, Dick, who is 7 years old. Mr. Isom was a public spirited citizen. He served as irrigation water master two years, culinarj water master 10 years, as a member mem-ber of the town board four terms, as city marshal and health officer offi-cer from 1920 to 1922. He was active in ward affairs, for years a member of the Sunday school superintendency and a leader in dramatics. Besides his wife and children he is survived by two stepdaughters, step-daughters, Mrs. Ramona Williams, of Kanarra; Miss Irma Clove, of Hurricane; a step-son, La Dell Clove, of Overton; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Wright, Hurricane; Mrs. Emma Startton, Hinckley; a brother, Thomas Isom, of Hurricane Hurri-cane and 10 grandchildren. Funeral Services Prayers were offered by Morris Wilson and Frank Reber. Musical numbers included a clarinet solo, by Glen Webb; a vocal duet, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine", Vernett and Jay Hinton; two selections by the male quartette, quar-tette, "Abide With Me" and "I'll Go Where You Want Me", sung by O. Burgener, Vernon Church, Lafayette Staheli and A. K. Larson, Lar-son, and a stringed trio, "End of a Perfect Day", Dorothy Hirschi, La Donna Stevens and Mona Wilson. Speakers at the services were James Jepson, E. N. Stanworth, William Woodbury, Chauncey Sandberg and Claudius Hirschi, stake president, all of whom spoke of Mr. Isom as a person of strong convictions, keen mind, fair in judgment and possessed of the qualities that made for a good counselor. Burial was made in the city cemetery with Bp. Ira Bradshaw dedicating the grave. |
