Show W. Worthen Dies Nov. 22 of Influenza Wm. Worthen, 54, died at his home here November 22, after a brief illness of two days. Mi-. Worthen was born in St. George April 12, 1879, a son of Joseph S. Worthen and Mary Jane Heeps. He was married to Mary Ann Cox. Nov. 16, 1904, and has spent his entire life in St. George. He was a stone mason by trade. Besides his widom, Mrs. Mary Ann Worthen, he Is survived by a son Wm. G. Worthen and a daughter Clesta Worthen, three brothers Claud Worthen and Robert Ro-bert Worthen ol St. George; George Worthen of Cedar City; four sisters Mss. Louisa Goff, Mrs. George Baker and Mrs. John Eardley, St. George; Mrs. Johr. Higgins, Boulder City, Nevada. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed In the Stake Tabernacle Friday, Fri-day, under the direction of the West Ward Bishopric. A duet, "In a Garden" by Pratt Miles and Ruth Allen; opening prayer, O. S. Taylor; girls trio, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought." W. B. Mathis spoke on the home life of the Worthen family. Vocal solo. "Supplication" by Lillian Lil-lian Morrison. George Worthen talked on the hereafter and what it meant to people who were married in the temple. Vocal solo, ' O' Grave Where is Thy Victory." Karl Fordham. Pres. W. O. Bentley told about the early life of Mr. and Mts. Worthen and what a dependable and thoughtful man Mr. Worthen was. Bishop Worthen expresed the sympathy of the community to the family in the loss of a splendid splen-did husband and father. Prayer was offered by B. Jarvis, Jr. |
