Show Neighbors Honor Mrs. A. F. Miles With Surprise Birthday Party Sponsored by Mrs. Grover Shakespeare Shake-speare and Mrs. Clinton Fuller, a neighborhood surprise party was given Wednesday afternoon honoring hon-oring Mrs. Arthur F. Miles "Aunt Zadee" to all her close associates, on her 77 birthday anniversary. The group assembled at the Shakespeare home at 4 p. m., and went from there in a group to the Miles home. Mrs. Miles was completely surprised. An informal program included community singing, vocal solos by Melba Baker accompanied by Miss Helen Cannon; readings by Mae M. McAllister and Mrs. David J. Shakespeare, an original tribute in verse by Josephine J. Miles, and reading of birthday card sentiments and an original poem written by Mrs. Miles' daughter, Florence M. Jones of Rockville. Mrs. Jane Moss accompanied ac-companied the community singing. sing-ing. Miss Lena Nelson and Mrs. Alice Milne told of their long association as-sociation with the honored guest. |
