J Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cuni-,j.uing3 Cuni-,j.uing3 Gardner, formerly of St. George, passed away at iier home in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, July 13, after an il'ness 'of several months duration. Airs, j Gardner, who was 57 years of Jage at the time of her passing, is survived by her husband, 'Thomas H. Gardner, two daughters, daugh-ters, Miss Ada, and Mrs. C. B. I Stewart, Jr., of Los Angeles, and two sons. Wayne C. of St. George and Cummings of Los Angeles. j Brothers and sisters of Mrs. ! Gardner in attendance at Lire funeral services held Friday were (Mrs. W. P. Winters of Mi. 1 Pleasant, Mrs. Charles G. orge, iKanosh; Mrs. Stanley Johnson, Salt Lake City, and Harvey and i Isaac Cummings, Kanosh. Mrs. j Charles Whitaker of Salt Lake j City, another sister, was unable ; to be present on account of ill-i ill-i ness. Services were under the direction direc-tion of Bishop Lorenzo Myler, as- sisted by elders from the headquarters head-quarters of the California mission mis-sion of the L. D. S. church. Opening Op-ening prayer was by Elder Clif-foid. Clif-foid. Those expressing words of con- j solation were Earl N. White of j Garvanga ward bishopric, Elder j Hatch, Bishop Myler and A. R. I virus, president of the Mexican j mission, who had been an acquaintance ac-quaintance of the famliy for 4 6 years. Vocal solos were rendered by Mrs. Sconberg and Elder Clark, assisted at the piano by Katherine R. Stewart. The closing clos-ing prayer was offered by Elder Turner and the grave in ti;e Valhalla Val-halla cemetery was dedicated by President Ivins. Aire.-t,-d on Larceny Charge T. W. Watson, 20, of Kanab, was arrested at Santa Clara on I Wednesday by Sheriff Wm. : Brooks, at the request of Sher-! Sher-! iff Lloyd Chamberlain of Kane county on a grand larceny i charge. He is accused of steal-i steal-i ing a beef. CANE BEDS fJAXE RKI1S, July 15. Keith Barber returned to Hurricane Hurri-cane Tuesday after a two weeks' visit here. Olive Stock is home again af-tfr af-tfr having been working in Short Creek for the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Waldon Ballard went to Rockville Tuesday after fruit. T. H. Love and Ray Palmer made a business trip to Hurricane Hurri-cane last Tuesday. Arnold Adair has returned to the herd after visiting at home for the past week. Miss Berta Perkins, Karl per. kins and Arnold Adair spent several days last week on Kaibab mountain. Jake Ferrin returned Sunday from Hurricane where he has been for the past mon;h. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Covington Coving-ton went to Hurricane today for a load of fruit. Several rainstorms have come here within the past week. |
