The course is nearly | all mountain trials that range in elevation from 10,000 feet to over 14,000 feet. “Last year I was nervous about finishing,” Collings said. “It is a tough course and no other runners from Utah had ever finished the race.” Collings finished the race to become the first Utahn to do so “and handed in a 45- hour race one athlete had to be life flighted off the course. “This has seemed like a natural course for my running,” Collings said. “My speed has gone down, so I use my stamina now. These races require stamina to finish.” Collings has been running for 20 years and competing in 100-mile trail races for six years.
