It took a few minutes of wandering on top of a pole fence before this young cat saw what it was looking for and took the leap. The cat belongs to Wade Slaugh of Jensen and was out wishing there was a little more sun shining through the fog this winter. Countywide streetside parking ban approved Three amendments to the existing parking ordinance were approved by the Uintah Commission Commis-sion on Monday, March 3. The ordinance prohibits on-street on-street parking that leaves less than a 20-foot width for the lane. The travel lane part of the roadway must be open for the free movement of vehicular traffic. Second, parking will be prohibited on streets when it is snowing or when snow is on the street. Specifically, this restriction re-striction will be in effect from November through April. Finally, items restricted from storage for more than 72 hours on county streets are such things as recreational vehicles, boats, trailers, dumpsters, obsolete equipment, or any like item, in the public right of way - that is, within 10 feet of the travel surface. Garbage containers used for residential pick-up will not be allowed in the public right-of-way for more than 24 continuous hours. Items in the roadway made travel on county roads more difficult dif-ficult than the snow this year. In a snow storm; the county road ' department's first obligation is clearing school routes. Items left on the roadway impeded the process. TP Student Essay Contest Central Utah Water Conservancy District is sponsoring an essay contest for students ages 9-18 within its 10 -county boundary.
