Show Western Hospitality Dear Editor During a recent visit to your wonderful wonder wonder- ful Uintah County we came to appreciate many features there The natural beauties beau ties lies of your canyons and valleys were awesome but the hospitality of your people much more impressive The Vernon family and the Pierce families fam lam gave us warm informative insight to the Church and from Rex flex and Melba Pierce we first learned about gilsonite its it's uses and mining A most memorable feature of our visit was a trip down Green River through Split Mountain with Glade Southam of Western River Expeditions as our guide apparently a young man who likes his state and enjoys his work Glade helped us to appreciate the scenery scenery seen ery and the Utahan humor as well as the rapids Our visit to Salt Lake and the pageant Promised Valley the temple and the copper mine were memorable but butwell butwell well we'll never forget Uintah County's hidden valleys and the stars of bright red petunias pe pe- in front of the court house and the high dinosaurs at the Natural History Ills His tory Museum Our first visit to a real working ranch with the Glade Holmes out at Brush Blush Creek and viewing pioneer cabins with sod roofs reminded us that Utah is still sUU being settled to a degree We admire the spirit of your people their energies and their apparent great faith in their land May we in turn invite each Uintah to Louisiana and Tennessee where Bayons and farms abound where well we'll attempt to repay the wonderful wonderful won won- hospitality you afforded us out west MERCES MERGES JONITA AND MARY CATHERINE Clarksville Tennessee and MRS E E.
