Several objections objec-tions to the bill have been raised by environmentalists en-vironmentalists calling for additional acreage and by industry calling for deletions in the amount of acreage. One of the biggest controversies centered around the discovery of carbon car-bon dioxide fields in the Box Death Hollow area and an oil and gas field in the High Uintas. After weeks of debate between all factions involved in the wilderness proposal and Sen. John Sieber ling, D-Ohio, the group was able to reach a compromise. Another major controversy arose over the allowing of helicopter skiing in wilderness areas in Mount Olympus and Twin Peaks. Both environmentalists environmen-talists and cross country skiers complained com-plained that the noise of the helicopters would detract from the w ilderness.
