Magna, Taylorsville Volume X The Fastest Growing Community in Utah The Heritage Players to Kearns Club Adopfs Yuen Ling of Hong Kong Appear in Granger Sept. 9 An appearance by the Heritage Players is being sponsored by Granger Community Christian Church, 2600 West 3800 South, Monday, September 9, 1963. The Heritage Players production of Rehearsal in Kerioth will begin at 8'p.m. The public is cordially invited to this performance. The Heritage Players, now in their fifth year of touring, combines quality reliogious drama literature with the talents of experienced and dedicated Christian performers. Their work is highly respected by both church leaders and professional people in theatre and television. Although the troupe usually performs in churches, it is their policy to contribute their services to retirement homes, hospitals, orphanages and institutions of correction. .The present repertoire of the first , national Heritage Playejx tour includes the revival of two previous successes: Roger Williams and Mary by Albert Johnson and Rehearsal in Kerikoth by Ronald Coulter. (Each drama is more fully described on the brochure.) - LDS The featured artists include Richard and Joanne Sweet of Seattle. Richard has been active in speech and drama at the University of Washington. Last season he served as assistant director for the troupes successful production of Le Comedien, and is now studying for the ministry at Northwest Christian College, Eugene, Oregon. Joanne toured with the troupe five years ago and has returned as program coordinator and handles the complex lighting and sound systems. She is also a fine pianist. Jody Sproul, an exceptional Portland actres is preparing herself in the aica of Psychology at Cascade College where she toured with the Chancel Players. Ronald Coulter of Eugene, the director of the group, will also be acting. Mr. Coulter, a graduate of the University of Oregon in speech and theatre, recently toured the Orient in State Department and USO performances. The Heritage Players, formally the Christian Drama Troupe, were originally sponsored by Northwest Christian College, Eugene, Oregon; however, .they are now an independent non-prof- it organization. There is no admission, however, a free will offering will be taken. Granger Lauded for Stake Center More than 1,300 of the members Granger Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were in attendance Sunday night as Henry D. Moyle, first counselor in the 'First Presidency dedicated a new stake center at 2850 West 3835 South. In addition to being a center for the Granger Stake it will also serve as a meeting house for the Granger Eleventh Ward. Pres. Wed for LaMar Rushton 'Funeral services for LaMar Rush-to34, who was killed in the Moab Mine Explosion, was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Taylorsville 4th Ward, under the direction of Bishop Jack Miller. LaMar was reared and schooled in Taylorsville. He is the son of Edward and Grace Afton Olsen Rushton. Survivors include his wife, Lois Lorraine Hamilton Rushton, three and children, Maurine. Yuen Ling is described as a likeable, kind, rather serious girl. As a result, though the father has a small job, he earns such a pittance that he cannot feed his family, much less clothe the children and send them to school.
