Sunday also saw some members of the post in Morgan to a State Council meeting. The post wishes to call attention to the article in todays paper on the Gun Safety and Survival Course they are sponsoring. The American Legion Junior Auxiliary will hold their first regular meeting for the fall Saturday, September 23 at 2 p.m. at the home of Margaret Grissetti. The membership drive for the Kearns American Legion Post 132 is beginning now and will run to October 15. Anyone who is eligible is urged to join. This would be, for the post, anyone who has been in World War 1, Woild War II or the Korean War; for the auxiliary, any one who has a husband, father or brother who is a Legionaire. Those interested in becoming a member contact Boyd Mott, post; Dorothy Mott or Onadel Coley, auxiliary. A joint executive meeting will be held at the home of Charlie Shepp Thursday, September 21. Any member of the Legion or auxiliary who wishes to attend may do so. One of the guest speakers will be a fellow who may collaborate with the post on the new post home. They will have a guest speaker on world affairs. Kiwanis Hear Speaker Lt. Colonel Kenneth Keith Evans, retired from the U.S. Army Signal Corps, spoke to the Kearns Kiwanis Club at their last meeting relative to the Nuremberg trials conducted in Germany. He served as a signa officer in the Air Force. Spent 2 years as an officer serving at the trails from 1945 to 1948. He spen" the last 6 years of his career Douglas. In 1960 he retiree from the army and decided to make Salt Lake City his home.
