Show Page 4 Thursday, June 25, 1959 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS American Legion Organizes Junior Auxiliary Mrs. Charlene Gilson, president the Kearns American Legion Auxilary, discloses that a Junior Auxiliary of- the American Legion has been formed for girls between the ages of 8 to 13 years of age. Senior adviser for the group is Mrs. John Grissetti, 4785 W. 4985 South. Meetings of the group are to be held every Monday at 1 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Grissetti. A meeting of the group was held Monday, June 15th, at which time officers for the Junior Auxiliary were elected for the coming year. The Junior Auxiliary is still open for membership of girls who have either a father or brother who is a member of the American Legion, or if either joins, the girls is eligiof - ble. The main duties of the girls of the axuiliary will be child welfare and Americanism. The group will make articles that will be taken to the children in the childrens hospitals for different occasions and at Chirstmas they will form a chorale group to sing Christmas songs. .The girls of the Junior Auxiliary only hold offices for three months at a time, to enable all girls to learn the proper function of each office and do her part. The first girls to hold office in the newly organized Junior Auxiliary are Marsha Bass, Jr., chairman; Lynda Grissetti, vice chairman; Linda Gibbs, secretary; Janet ' Kathrine treasurer; Daugherty, Pauline Gilson, sgt. of arms; Barbara Ellen Daugherty, chaiplin; Rosemary Bass, historian. It has been tentatively arranged for the Jaycettes to have charge of the stand during the 4th of July Founders Day celebration.
