The Lions Club met in the Kearns Medical Center last Monday evening and discussed plans for their project. They announced that the next meeting of the group will not be held until rectors had never had any drama experience, yet turned out some excellent plays. And, of course, everyone from the Kearns North Stake was thrilled with the final outcome. Good luck in all future presentation! January. Sub-for-San- ta Kearns 14th Ward Takes Top Honors in Stake Play The Kearns 14th Ward MIA won four out of eight awards in the one-aplay competition in the Kearns North 'Stake, Nov. 25. Their play, The Perfect Hideout received awards for the best play and the best directors, who were Janet Herbert and Gayla Kendall. Other awards were presented to Larry Schieving for best actor and to Laura Davidson for best supporting actress. Kearns 3rd Ward placed second, winning , three awards for their play, Jerry Breaks a Date. These awards went to Carla Berry for best actress, Mike Wood-brebest supporting actor and David Orr for the best bit part. An award for special effect went to the Kearns 11th Ward. District competition was held Kearns North Stake and Taylorsville Stake the evening of November 30. Kearns North Stake was represented by the Kearns 14th Ward, who again took honors for the best play and best directors, Gayla Kendall and Janet Herbert. Best actor award was presented to Larry Scheiving, best supporting actress was awarded to Jeanette Pearson. The award for special effects was presented to the Kearns North Stake. This award consists of the best scenery, costuming, etc., and special credit for this is attributed to Donna Monson of the Kearns 14th Ward, whos tireless efforts made this award possible.
