Teas are no novelty usually but this one was a tea with a different tale. The 37 students in Mrs. Palmers class had studied food preparation with very definite plans in mind. The students elected the food which they wanted to prepare and serve to their parents and then did just that. They made bread, two kinds, white and wheat, churned their own butter, made potato salad (from (from schatch, too!) turned 20 qts. of milk into excellent hot cholo-lat- e and made five different kinds of cookies. Who Says they dont learn anything of a practical nature in school these days. Each crild invited his parents or when parents were unable to attend they invited a grandparent or a brother or other interested member of the family. When everyone had been served, the total, including the students and school office personnel, tallied 83. The food was so delicious that as a follow-u- p the students are making recipe books to take home. Some lucky mothers will have those bread recipes together with five cookie recipies (chocolate chip, peanut butter, brownies, thumb print cookies with jelly centers, and pressed cookies) a new potato salad and some very enthusiastic advice on just how to prepare them, coming home to her soon. 01 WE WILL TRADE YOUR PRESENT.
