Theoretically, this is a very simple act for which many, many people do every day of the year. But not for two ladies who were in line in front of me. Im sure they had intentions of making a federal case out of it. The conversation between the ticket seller and these two charming ladies went something like this: How many tickets, please? I dont know. How many tickets do we need, Alice? Six, if Uncle Ned gets here in time. When did he say he was arriving? Tuesday night if he takes the plane, and Thursday if he takes the train. Can we get six tickets for Tuesday night and then turn one back in if Uncle Ned decides to take the train? No, lady, once the tickets are sold,' thats it. We cant take them back. Why not? I dont know Why not. The boss says no and that's good enough for me. How much are the tickets? Five dollars, three dollars, two-fiftand a buck. All including tax. Tax? What kind of a tax can they put on y, rodeos? Im sure I dont know, lady. It says on the ticket, tax included. Im sorry I mentioned it. No, Im glad you mentioned it. Theres too many hidden taxes now and it aggravates me. It aggravates me too, lady, but I dont make the laws. I just sell tickets, I think. Where do the horses and bull come from? How do I know where the horses and bulls come from? May be a large stork brings them. Dont get sassy with me, young man. You know perfectly well what I mean. Where are the chutes where they release the horses. Im looking for some good seat:?. The chutes for the horses are over here, and the chutes for the bulls are over here. How far do the bulls run before those nice cowboys stop them? Im sure I dont know, lady. I imagine it all depends on the bulls and the cowboys.
