For the best results buy refined wax in a slab. Hard wax with a melting point of 140 to ISO degrees is used for most candles and is easily obtainable from a craft shop. Ordinary household paraffin is NOT recommended because its melting point is too low and it is hard to remove from molds. Cut wax into small to medium size chunks and melt in a double-boile- r type container. (Do not place the melting pot directly over heat.) An old coffee pot is ideal to use since it has a good pouring spout and handle. Two pounds of wax equals one quart of liquid and eight pounds of wax makes a gallon of liquid wax. Someone has said To pick and a wick is a neat trick this is trug since a wick which work: for one kind of candle may not be satisfactory for another. A general basic rule to remember is that the larger the candle is in diameter the the larger the wick should be. Some molds can have a small hole bored in the bottom for the wick which can be knotted, then fastened to a pencil or stick anchoring it at the top. Small metal discs to hold a wick down are available. - BUYiCANDLES 2335 SAWlTampI Ph?487-329- 7j earitu 2230 SO. 7TH EAST Creating with color is fun SALT LAKE CITY. UTAH and so easy to dp.
