Paid tuition, check. Bought school supplies, check. There's still more though. While preparing for the new school year, UVU students scramble to get last minute details finalized, including IDs, bus passes and parking permits. IDs and UTA bus passes can be purchased at Campus Connection located in SC 106F. To get a new UV ID, students must bring a government issued ID, preferably a driver's license, and their UV ID number. If a student does not have a government issued ID, another form of ID plus at least three bills sent to the student will suffice. A UV ID gives students access to the library, the testing center, athletic equipment, student activities and other on campus events. A first time ID card is free, while replacement cards are $15. An ID is also used as a UTA bus pass, but must be activated at Campus Connection for a $20 fee. "Get your ID early, especially if you're getting a bus pass," said Tiffany Peterson from Campus Connection. "The bus pass is only valid for a school year regardless of when you get it, so you might as well get the best bang for your buck." Along with their bus pass, students can also activate the GreenBucks feature available on a UV ID. GreenBucks allows students to deposit money onto their UV ID, which they can use throughout the school year and continue to add funds once the balance declines. There are GreenBucks options, but it can potentially be used at the bookstore, dining services UV Post Office, Campus Connection and some vending machines on campus. GreenBucks can be activated by visiting Campus Connection or going online to https://OneCard.uvu.edu . There are three types of UVU IDs: a UV OneCard, a UV PlusCard and a UV Aviation OneCard for Aviation students only. All three UVU IDs have bus passes, GreenBucks and door access capabilities, along with athletic facility access. However, the UV PlusCard also acts as a UCCU debit card. The process for acquiring a UV PlusCard is similar to getting a regular ID, with the exception that once the photo is taken, the student is sent to UCCU to apply for an account. Once the paperwork has gone through, the ID is printed at the credit union. Although Campus Connection provides new students with many tools they will need throughout their time at UVU, it is not a one stop shop. Parking permits cannot be purchased through Campus Connection. To obtain a parking pass, students have three options: buy it online through UVLink, go to One Stop in or visit Parking Services at 936 South 300 West. The prices vary depending on where students would like to park. For access to all student parking or for disabled students, permits are $80 for the year or $50 per semester. For night classes, it is $40 for the year, and for students that want to save money there is a free parking lot, although a permit is still required. Permits for Fall/Spring went on sale on July 26 and are still currently on sale.
