Well... that's actually probably true. There are three categories of movies for you: "Movies for guys who like movies," "chick flicks/'and "that gay cowboy movie." When John Lennon reportedly said, ''Someone should bui|d a temple in which to show Stanley Kubrick's '200T: A Space Odyssey'24 hours a day" you said,"Boooooorrrr rrriiiiiiing." You haven't bothered to see any of Bill Murray's movies after "Caddyshack." You can actually stand Tom Cruise. Every year on Jerry Bruckheimer's birthday you pull your kids out of school, call in sick to work, and attempt at least some sort of pilgrimage in , honor of the one you call "God." You don't know the difference between independent film and "Independence Day." You can't decide whether you love or hate IMAX: "Bigger screen good, Educational documentaries, bad." I When Utah was voting whether or not to make English the official language, you said, "Does that mean no more subtitles?" One great thing about Utah is that you can get to so many amazing places if you're willing to drive a little. Though it's commonly known around here, the majority of the people in the U.S. have never heard of Havasupai. For those who fall into that category, Havasupai is a hidden treasure in the Grand Canyon that holds four breathtaking waterfalls. The first is Navajo Falls, a 75-foot tumbling fall that hides caves and caverns. The second is Havasu Falls, a 100-foot fall that drops into a beautiful blue-green lagoon. The base contains natural limestone pools great for hanging out and meeting other campers. The third is Mooney Falls, the highest, most intense and somewhat dangerous to reach, fall. With a shear 200-foot drop, a lot of mist kicks up and makes the treacherous steep chain-climb down a bit perilous and slippery. Once at the base, you can swim, enjoy the rope swing or continue onto the fourth fall, known as Beaver Falls. Beaver Falls constitutes a series of small falls that stretch all the way to the border where the reservation meets the Grand Canyon National Park. Even though the canyon confines you to a certain area, there is more than enough to do while you're there. The falls provide great areas for swimming, rope swinging, cliff diving and even basking in the sun. The canyon itself allows you to explore caves, hike beautiful trails, etc. Now for the bad news: in order to get to Havasupai, you have to be willing to hike ten miles. The hike in is not so bad because it's all downhill, but after exhausting yourself there, the uphill hike out will take its toll on you. The worst is the last mile and a half because of the nonstop switchbacks all the way up to the rim of the canyon. Don't let that get you down because there are always other options like sending your packs down on mules, riding horses or even taking a chopper ride down to the village that's only two miles from camp. If Havasupai is something that you've heard about but never done, consider pushing yourself to go. If you go just once, you'll want to go every summer. And it's never too late to make it a summer tradition. For more information and reservations, go to http://www.havasupaitribe. com.
