The candidates were asked to introduce themselves and their backgrounds, as well as present their philosophy for institutional advancement. Going beyond what has already been done, they also presented innovative methods to bring money into UVSC. With many new proj- ects on campus such as the Digital Learning Center, library and aims to boost the athletics program, grants'from the state Legislature and other means of financing are not enough. Also, as UVSC continues stepping towards university status, funding needs are "growing. However, with new direction, the department of Institutional Advancement and Marketing hopes to increase private money. Screening for the position began on May 26th and the new vice president will be announced and appointed within the next few weeks.
